Dahlia S L gallery presents The Night Show with 7 Canadian and 2 Mexican artists
A collaboration with the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City

Dahlia S L is pleased to present The Night Show in Mexico City on July 1st. For a limited time, the Four Seasons Hotel and the award-winning Fifty Mils bar will present the artworks of one of Canada's youngest gallerists, Dahlia Labatte, in collaboration with Air Canada and important personalities of the art scene. Guests and collectors will be able to view the exhibition in its entirety at the Four Seasons Mexico City through concierge reservations, or on their own.
"The artist search process is different for each exhibition. We take the time to understand the history and artistic process of each artist. The subject matter manifests itself differently in each of the works we select. The Night Show is a representation of the distinctly separate ideas of private and public that blend in a hotel and hotel bar and come to life at night. This is contributed to by each artist and how their artistic practice connects to this theme." Dahlia Labatte, curator and co-founder of Dahlia S L.
For a limited time and in celebration of Canada Day, The Night Show will feature drink specials in collaboration with Four Seasons Montreal lead bartender Jonathan Homier and Executive Chef Jason Morris, who will offer a special selection of Canadian dishes during the evening. A playlist of music designed by Dahlia and the artists will be featured in the launch event.

Meet the artists
Noella Noel is an abstract painter currently residing in Prince Edward County, Ontario, where the gallery held its first and second exhibitions. Her work allows her to share "an inner part of myself that is not always on view."
Callum Keith Rennie is a Canadian actor and has been painting for over 25 years. The Night Show is the first time he has exhibited his work publicly. His work alludes to universal themes such as ego and self, hope, and love.
Daniela Terroba Schlam is an emerging multimedia artist based in Mexico City. Her work is inspired by the human form, especially the organs and the interior of the body. The artist brings the entrails to light, just as the night and the bar can expose the inner workings of the self.
Arantxa Solís, painter based in Mexico City. Arantxa focuses her practice on the interaction of light and color. Her works are nourished by the space and the illumination of her surroundings, generating dynamic experiences and diverse emotions in the viewer.
Elly Smallwood is a Canadian painter. She is inspired by classical subjects and often portrays herself and those close to her. She paints in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Her technique is often characterized by the expressiveness and movement of her brushstrokes.
Emily Pope, resident of Toronto (Canada). Her work explores the pairing of her body with symbolic elements and scenarios to amplify her experiences of femininity. Pope's paintings aim to bring clarity and coherence to the intangible experiences of the human condition, presenting an inner life of reverie on canvas.
Fabrizio Sclocco is an Italian-Canadian painter based in Toronto. He examines the connections between understanding the sensations of everyday life and how past experiences influence our current emotions. He works to build bridges between the conscious and unconscious mind, unveiling and examining the egoic self.
Donna Zekas, with whom the gallery has worked since its first exhibition. She is an experienced painter and sculptor. Through the exploration of visual elements, her direction and ideas change. She submits and reacts intuitively trusting her instincts and impulses with the knowledge that each step will be altered.
Sponsors and collaborators
Dahlia S L believes that the art experience is participatory and collaborates with local partners on every show. With The Night Show, we are proud to work with these partners and collaborators:
Special thanks to Air Canada, airline sponsor of this great project, strengthening with this collaboration the link between Mexico and Canada.
Carla Bosacki, a renowned Canadian public relations expert, for her media support to maximize the impact of the exhibition.
Renata Chavez, art curator, we are thrilled to be working with our ally in the art scene, who has always customized guided tours for our guests. She will be hosting The Night Show art tours locally for the duration of the show.
Additionally, Günther Leudesdorf, Air Canada's General Manager for Mexico and Colombia said: "It is very important for Air Canada to be part of these initiatives to bring culture and the diversity of creative culture and the diversity of creative spaces to more audiences.
Air Canada has focused on generating the best travel experiences, adding to the objectives of the company as the constant work to strengthen everything related to issues of inclusion with different proposals to the usual, so we were recently awarded by Skytrax as the World's Most Family Friendly Airline 2023, an award that endorses our search for new ways to be connected and linked to Canada with the world and therefore, to collaborate in the dissemination of art today, is another of our satisfactions to achieve the connection between Canada and Mexico.
For all of the above, we wish absolute success to Dahlia and Belinda Labatte and each of the emerging artists in this project".
